Health

We believe a student's health is very important and directly related to their ability to function and learn properly. Parents should ensure that their child is receiving adequate sleep, exercise and nutrition daily.  We advise parents to pack nutritional food for their child's snacks and lunch.

Immunizations

North Carolina law requires that students be fully immunized against DPT(Diphtheria, Pertussis and Tetanus), Polio, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B and Varicella in order to attend school. A certificate or print out from a licensed physician showing that the student has meet all the age appropriate immunizations is required within 30 days of starting school.  If it is not received within 30 days, the student may not attend school until it is received.

The State does allow for exemptions for those students who are claiming a medical or religious exemption from receiving their full immunizations. In both cases, these exemptions must be submitted in writing within 30 days of school starting.

Illness/Sickness

If your child is sick with a fever, diarrhea or vomiting, they must be symptom free for at least 24 hours before returning to school and without fever reducing medication for 24 hours.

If an illness requires an antibiotic, the child may return after 24 hours of receiving the treatment.

Medication

All medication for students must be turned into the school's office along with the proper medical documentation.  Students may not administer their own medication while at school.
